Ball in Hand - the possibility of placing the cue ball on the table before the shooting occurs

Bank Shot - a shot when an object ball is moved to one rail or more before it is being pocketed.

Break - the first shot in the pool game that breaks through the rack. See also opening break shot.

Bridge - the hand formation used to hold and guide the shaft end of the cue during play.

Butt or Butt of Cue - as its name indicates, it is the bottom part of the cue held by the player.
